Military official: Saudi warplanes launch 26 airstrikes on Yemen

SANAA, Sept. 27 (YPA) – Yemen’s Sanaa-based Sanaa armed forces spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Sarie declared on Sunday that the Saudi warplanes carried out 26 airstrikes using F-15 aircraft over the past 24 hours.

In a statement, the spokesman clarified the F-15 fighter jets targeted the provinces of Taiz, Jawf, Marib, Dhamar and Saada.

He said the Saudi fighter jets were took off from Khamis Mushait Air Base and that the strikes resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries.

Brig. Gen. Sarie added that the total number of Saudi air and missile strikes since the escalation began has reached 1,085.

Earlier, Sanaa Health Ministry spokesman Dr. Anis Al-Asbahi said the death toll from the Saudi escalation between September 3 and Sunday had reached 67, with 107 others injured, most of them women and children.
