SANAA, Jul. 23 (YPA) – The first deputy chief of the Committee for Emergency and Civil Defense, Imomali Ibrohimzoda, announced the readiness of his country to receive up to 100,000 refugees from Afghanistan.
“Today, we can receive and station in the military fields of the Tajik Ministry of Defense, which are located near the Afghan border, about 100,000 refugees from Afghanistan,” he said.
Ibrohimzoda noted that the Tajik government is currently discussing with international organizations the capacity of Tajikistan in this field.
in July, he also stated that Tajikistan had received more than 1.5 thousand Afghan refugees, adding that they were provided with all the necessities, food, water and tents and returned to their homeland on Tajik planes.
