Police arrest gang that assaulted journalist in Sanaa

SANAA, Jul. 03 (YPA) – Police in the capital Sanaa announced on Saturday the arrest of three persons accused of assaulting the journalist Mohammed Qaid Moqbil Al-Azizi, 43.

The Police stated that Mohammed Abdullah Attiya, Ahmad Mohammed Attiya, and Ahmad Hassan Al-Sharabi beat Al-Azizi on June 27 using sticks and stones, causing various injuries throughout his body.

Both of the accused, Mohammed Attiya and Ahmed Al-Sharabi, were arrested in Shoub district, while pursue is still underway to arrest the third accused Ahmed Attiya, the police added.

The police explained that the victim rented a house belonging to one of the gang members, who assaulted him in an attempt to force him to vacate the house despite his monthly commitment to pay the rent.
