SANAA, July 1 (YPA) – The foreign ministers of the United Arab Emirates and Israel pledged to move forward in strengthening and normalizing relations between the two countries. In a joint article published by the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, the two ministers, “Abdullah bin Zayed” and “Yar Lapid,” said: “With the establishment of diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel, our two countries set out to define a new model for our region: a model defined by joint pursuit To achieve peace, stability, security, prosperity and coexistence for our peoples.”
Under the title “We chose differently,” they added that the challenges facing the two countries are great, and that peace is an option for them in the face of violence and extremism in the region, where there are serious economic interests and complex diplomatic dynamics.
“Our approach, which prioritizes open exchange and participation between people, must overcome the forces that will try to undermine it,” they continued.
The article talked about the cooperation between the two countries, since the announcement of the normalization of relations last year. Last Tuesday, Lapid arrived in the UAE for a two-day official visit, the first of its kind, and opened his country’s embassy in Abu Dhabi.
Last year, Israel and the UAE announced the normalization of relations, and since then dozens of agreements have been signed between the two countries.
