VANCOUVER, March 28 (YPA) – One person was killed and at least five others injured in a stabbing attack at a library in Vancouver, Canadian, police said Sunday morning.
“A single suspect has been arrested,” police said in a Tweet, noting that “there is no current threat to the public.
The authorities did not release details of the possible motive for the attack, which occurred in the afternoon (local time) near the library.
“One of the victims was killed,” Sergeant Frank Chang told AFP, adding that authorities were still working to identify the victims.
CTV aired a video apparently showing the arrest of the suspect, who appeared to stab himself in the leg before collapsing and being held by police officers.
According to a spokeswoman for Health Care Canada, six people were taken to hospitals, but declined to give details about their circumstances.
