Independent political alliance formed in Shabwa

SHABWA, Feb. 06 (YPA) – The formation of an independent political alliance for the people of the oil-rich province of Shabwa, eastern Yemen, was announced on Saturday.

The “Shabwa Alliance” aims to unify the efforts of the province’s people to achieve their demands and to obtain their rights from all local, regional and international bodies, according to a statement issued by the office of Sheikh Saleh bin Farid bin Mohsen Al-Awlaqi.

The statement indicated that Shabwa suffers from marginalization and exclusion of the rights of its sons in all fields, including political and economic decision-making.

The province enjoys strategic and economic importance, but it has suffered neglect during the past stages, added the statement.
