Civil defense puts out huge fire in Sanaa residential building

SANAA, June 20 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Civil Defense Authority in said on Saturday that firefighting teams extinguished a blaze that broke out in a residential building in Al-Wahda district of the capital, near Khulood Al-Ma’rifa School in the Al-Siyasi neighborhood.

A Civil Defense source said in a statement the fire alert was received at 9:42 a.m., after which a fire engine from the Disaster Management branch was immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters contained and extinguished the blaze, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the building and nearby homes.

According to the source, the fire originated in the basement of the home of citizen Abdul Salam Ibrahim Al-Nuaimi, causing partial damage to household furniture and the burning of personal documents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
