Armed confrontations renewed in Al-Ghaydah in Mahrah

MAHRA, Oct. 3 (YPA) – Violent clashes with various types of weapons broke out on Saturday, in Al-Ghaydah city, the capital of Mahra province, eastern Yemen, a local source reported.

The source noted that the clashes were with a cell believed to be of Al-Qaeda militants in the city, after the killing of three unidentified gunmen in clashes took place on Friday.

Militants were arrested in Friday’s confrontations, and were handed over to the Saudi forces at Al-Ghaydah airport, the source added.

According to the sources, Saudi Arabia is using the terrorism card to legitimize its presence in Mahra, which affirms that these terrorist organizations are merely tools that Saudi-led coalition controls in Bayda, Aden, Hadramout and Marib provinces, to be transferred to Mahra.
