SANAA, Sep. 23 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia on Wednesday assaulted a number of passengers outside the gate of Aden Airport in the port city of Aden, southern Yemen.
An oral dispute among the militia members charged with guarding the airport gate led to their assault on travelers, which developed into fistfights and shooting at travelers, a source at the airport explained.
He added that the shooting sparked terror and panic among travelers at the airport, without mentioning any injuries.
The source pointed out that the STC’s militias frequently raise problems with travelers, some of whom are beaten and insulted.
The STC militias guard the external gates of Aden airport, which is under Saudi occupation, and is the only air port for Yemenis, in addition to Sayoun Airport of Hadramout province, which is more than 2,000 kilometers from the capital Sanaa, whose airport is besieged by the coalition.
