Trump: the US presence in the Middle East to protect Israel

SANAA, Sept. 15 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump has said that the United States is not interested in the Middle East for oil but for protecting Israel.

“The United States is not in dire need of oil, but we must be in the Middle East to protect Israel,” Trump said in remarks last week, but the mainstream US press did not discuss it for an inexplicable reason.

Conservative US journalist Barbara Bland, the only journalist to have taken the comments, said it was clear that no one cared, but raised question marks over prevailing US claims that it existed in the Middle East because of oil to the point of getting involved in a war against Iraq.

The Trump’s comments are linked to a theory explaining why the Administration was rushing to invade Iraq under the pretext of alleged weapons of mass destruction, as the late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein’s threat to Israel appears to have been the motive for the war, but the White House did not dare to admit it at the time.
