SANAA, Aug. 24 (YPA) – The number of coronavirus (COCID-19) infections and death toll in Egypt have risen again on Sunday.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Health, Egypt recorded 103 new Covid-19 cases compared with 89 on Saturday.
The death toll rose by about seven after 19 deaths cases were recorded, compared with 12 on Saturday.
“The total number recorded in Egypt of the new Coronavirus as of Sunday is 97,340, including 65,927 recoveries and 5,262 deaths,” ministry spokesman Khalid Mujahid said.
In mid-March, Egypt imposed public isolation measures to combat the spread of the virus, including night curfews, bans on large public gatherings and the closure of restaurants and theatres.
Most of these measures have been lifted since late June, and with the gradual easing of public isolation restrictions, Egypt maintains multiple Covid-19 prevention measures, including the imposition of wearing masks in public and indoor spaces and public transportations and the maintenance of social spacing.
