ADEN, Aug. 24 (YPA) – At least eight people, including civilians, were injured in violent clashes between the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions in the southern port city of Aden, local sources said on Monday.
According to the sources, a military force belonging to the STC militia raided the house of the militia’s leader Badr al-Mohseni in the neighborhood adjacent to the central prison street in in Mansoura district on late Sunday.
The sources added that al-Mohseni and dozens of gunmen confronted the military force, triggering violent clashes, in which medium machine guns were used, as well as rocket-propelled grenades and B10 caliber .
The STC militia managed to break into the house of the leader Badr al-Mohseni, but he managed to escape from his home, one of the sources said.
The clashes caused material damage to citizens’ property and cars, as well as injuries that have not yet been counted, according to the sources.
Badr al-Mohseni is one of the leaders of the STC militia and has worked on the west coast and the reasons for the attack and attempted arrest against him are not yet known.
