SANAA, July 9 (YPA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Thursday that it is working on forming an independent committee to review its response to the Covid-19 disease pandemic, as well as the governments’ response to it.
The organization’s Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Gebresus, said in an online meeting with representatives of the 194 members of the organization that Helen Clark, the former Prime Minister of New Zealand, and Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former President of Liberia, had agreed to lead the committee and select its members.
“This is the time for a self-review,” Tedros added, noting that in May the members of the organization unanimously called for an assessment of the global response to the pandemic.
