SANAA, March 24 (YPA) – Germany has decided to extend the arms embargo to Saudi Arabia for an additional nine months.
“The period of arms sell embargo to Saudi Arabia, which expires in September, has been extended until December 31, 2020,” a German government spokesman was quoted by DPA as saying on Tuesday.
The official affirmed that the German government would not accept any request from Saudi Arabia regarding the purchase of weapons, before the end of the ban, according to Anadolu news agency.
The German government decided to ban the export of arms to Saudi Arabia in November 2018, against the backdrop of the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and the constant criticism of the aggression against Yemen.
