SOCOTRA, Sept. 15(YPA) – Local sources in the occupied province of Socotra confirmed that the UAE since the arrival of its military ruler Khalifa al-Mazroui in Socotra in the middle of last week seeks to control the state institutions on the island.
The sources said that since its occupation of the island, the UAE behaves as if it is “socotra” ownproperty and considers any action by the local authorities and any activity by its partner in the coalition represented in Saudi Arabia, as interference in its affairs.
On Friday, the UAE’s Transitional Militias prevented a Saudi diesel tanker from entering the city of Qalansiyah to refuel the Island power plant, the sources added,
They pointed out that the plant was established by Saudi Arabia and is still under trial and has not yet been handed over to the Electricity Corporation.
On Wednesday, the UAE militia looted the island’s generators and transported them on a truck belonging to the Khalifa Foundation for Humanitarian Works and handed them over to a commercial company belonging to Abu Dhabi that provides electricity to the population at a high price, the sources said.
The Sources noted that despite all these practices, there was no comment from Saudi forces on the island.
