PM meets WHO Representative in Yemen
SANAA, July 23 (YPA) – The Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, on Tuesday met with Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Yemen Dr. Altaf Musani.
During the meeting, the officials discussed the humanitarian activities of the United Nations Organization in the Republic of Yemen and its positive impact in alleviating Yemeni suffering by supporting the health sector and providing some of its emergency needs.
The meeting touched on the positive results achieved in the framework of national and international partnership in the face of the cholera epidemic.
The meeting pointed to the importance of continuing these efforts to contain the epidemic and to eliminate it.
The Prime Minister reiterated his thanks and appreciation for the humanitarian interventions carried out by the World Health Organization in order to reduce the suffering of the Yemeni citizen.
Bin Habtoor called on international health and the rest of the international organizations working in Yemen to intensify their humanitarian activities in order to reinforce the efforts exerted in the face of the catastrophic consequences of the tragedy which the Yemeni people currently experienced under the influence of the aggression and the siege of Saudi-led coalition and their economic war.
For his part, Musani pointed to the programs to be implemented by the World Health in partnership with the World Bank in the coming period at the level of various provinces of the Republic of Yemen, which include humanitarian aspects and basic services and support community initiatives.
