Interpol arrests Mohammed Zimam

SANAA, April 7 (YPA) -International police force Interpol has arrested the former Governor of the Bank of Aden, Mohammed Zimam, who is loyal to Saudi-led coalition, in the Kingdom of Jordan, pro-coalition media reported on Saturday.

According to the pro-coalition media, Zimam carried 250 million US dollars and two gold bars with him, who were all charged in bags carrying tapes and diplomatic markings, and tried to travel using a diplomatic passport.

The director of the Interpol branch in Jordan, Colonel Mohammad al-Hawatimah, said he had received a communication from Interpol Aden through the Interpol General Administration, calling on him to arrest Zimam during his crossing on Saturday from Amman airport to Germany.

He added that he is under investigation by the Jordanian police, who is currently keeping him under arrest and has seized the money in his possession.
