Yemeni army steps up operations in behind-border fronts

SANAA, March 29 (YPA) – The Yemeni army stepped up its military operations in behind-border fronts remarkably during the past three days, in coinciding with the celebration of the National Day of Steadfastness.

The Yemeni army forces repelled wide-scale infiltration attempts of Saudi-led coalition forces backed by air force.

Despite that some of those attempts lasted two consecutive days as it happened in Alib front in Asir, but the coalition forces failed to made any progress and suffered heavy losses in their ranks and military gear.

Earlier in the day, the army fighters repelled a large-scale infiltration attempt by the coalition militants towards al-Ajasher desert in Najran front, killing and injuring dozens ofthe militants, according to a military source.

The source added that three militants were captured and 16 military vehicles were destroyed during the operation, while a group of the coalition troops are still besieged in al-Ajasher desert.

The Yemeni army forces in last week tightened the control over several Saudi military sites in surroundings of al-Talah Mount in Najran front.

In the internal fronts, the Yemeni army forces on Thursday regained the control over an area of more than100 square kilometers in Dalea front, after a battle lasted 120 hours and resulted in controlling the strategic Nasah Mountain and 100 military sites.
