Yemen army controls several military sites in Asir

ASIR, Feb. 27 (YPA) – The Yemeni army forces on Wednesday controlled several military sites of militias loyal to Saudi army during an offensive in Majaza area of Asir region, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

The military operation resulted in many dead and wounded in ranks of the militias, while the rest of them fled, in addition to losses in military gear, according to the official.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni army’s artillery pounded gatherings of the Saudi army militias at Alib crossing and west of Majaza.

Field sources reported that the army units managed to foil an infiltration attempt by the militias towards Alib crossing, causing heavy losses to those militias.

On Tuesday, the Yemeni army backed by the popular committees thwarted three large-scale infiltration attempts from several directions towards Alib crossing by Saudi troops and militias backed by Saudi-led coalition warplanes, killing dozens and destroying six Saudi military armored vehicles.
