SANAA, Feb. 20 (YPA) – Seven Syrian children were killed Tuesday by a fire in their home in Halifax, Canada.
According to Reuters, Halifax police said a fire in a house in the Canadian city killed seven children from one family.
The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation reported that the family was a Syrian refugee and said the children were between the ages of three months and 17 years.
A man and a woman were wounded and hospitalized in a hospital, and police and fire department officials have not yet identified the cause of the fire.
One neighbor, Daniel Burt, told CBS News that she heard loud noise shortly after 12:30 am (0530 GMT) and saw a woman and a man running out of the house.
“We are waiting for more details about the tragic fire that took place on Tuesday in Spraifield,” said Mike Savage, mayor of Halifax, on Twitter.
