SANAA, Feb. 16 (YPA) – Five people were killed and 5 policemen were injured on Saturday by a 45-year-old gunman who was shooting from a building in an industrial area in a suburb of Chicago before the police killed him, authorities said.
“So far, five people were confirmed dead,” Kristin Ziman, the police chief of Aurora, a small town 65 km west of Chicago told reporters.
She added that five policemen were shot, without explaining whether any of them had died of his wounds and had been counted as dead or not.
A sixth policeman was injured, but the nature and circumstances of the injury were not immediately clear.
According to the police, the shooter, is a 45-year-old man named Gary Martin, who was wanted by security forces dead.
On the shooter, the police chief said, “We think he was an employee” in the institution where he opened fire, stating that she could not immediately determine why he had done so.
