SANAN, March.25 (YPA) – The idea of pushing Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to stop his country’s aggression against Yemen was met with a cold congressional reception.
The relations committee called to take a strong corrective actions in Yemen war, while US President did not wish to press Bin Salman, the Washington Post newspaper reported.
According to the newspaper, MBS could use some guidance from the most important ally of his country, the United States, noting that he to adopt reforms that is being described as promising, but in return he pursued an aggressive, adventures and disastrous interference in Yemen.
The Saudi crown prince has claimed to the same newspaper that there are no good options in Yemen. Ben Salman said his country had not missed any opportunity to improve the humanitarian conditions in Yemen.
But human rights organizations and US lawmakers said the Saudi-led coalition air strikes caused the death of some 5,000 civilians in Yemen, the Washington Post said.
Congress should press more for a serious commitment to peace negotiations in Yemen, noting that if it succeeds in persuading the Saudi prince to leave Yemen, it would improve the chances of reforming in Saudi Arabia, the newspaper added.
