President meets women leaderships in Sanaa

SANAA, March. 17 (YPA)- President of supreme political council Saleh al-Samad met on Saturday a number of women leaders headed by Minister of State, Radia Raouh and member of the Political Council of Ansarullah Halima Jahaf.

In the meeting, president stressed that Islam came to honor women, pointing out misunderstanding of some verses of the Holy Koran gave the west negative image about Islam and its values on women.

He confirmed that the role of Yemeni women was a universal and exemplary model for the world at large, indicating that women bore the support of many families during the aggression, and women bore heavy domestic burdens in the face of difficult circumstances.

Al-Samad pointed to the role of women in the continuation of education in many educational institutions despite of the lack of support and salary cuts.
In her part, the Head of the National Committee for Women Radia Abdullah expressed her happiness for this meeting, which brings together a constellation of women leaders who have community participation in various  fields.
