MAHRA, Dec. 20 (YPA) – The committee organizing the popular peaceful sit-in in Mahra province, eastern Yemen, confirmed its rejection of the violations against citizens at Sarfait border port in Hoof district.
“The province would witness a new escalation against the occupation forces (Saudi troops)”, the committee said in a statement on Wednesday, determining Friday as a date for the beginning of the sit-in in Hoof district, eastern the province.
The statement denounced the silence of the exiled Hadi government on what is happening in Mahra, including assaults on the sit-in by some leaders loyal to Hadi.
The committee demanded the governor loyal to Hadi to quickly hand over perpetrators of al-Anfaq crime, in which several citizens were killed by Saudi-backed militias, to the judiciary.
In its statement, the committee called on all honorable citizens in Mahra to participate in the peaceful sit-in at the Sarfait port at border with the Sultanate of Oman.
