Hadi’s government to leave Aden, settle in Mahra

ADEN, Nov. 26 (YPA) – Informed sources revealed on Monday that the government of the exiled Hadi is considering a proposal to leave the southern port city of Aden and settle in Mahra province, eastern Yemen.

This comes after the UAE occupation forces imposed their control on the city of Aden, amid the refusal of the government members to return from Riyadh to Aden, especially in light of the insecurity state witnessed by the city and assassinations implemented against military and political figures.

The sources pointed out that the proposal to transfer the government’s headquarters to Mahra province is a Saudi decision, as that will guarantee Saudi Arabia to implement its oil pipeline project to the Arabian Sea, as well as the suppression of anti-project protesters.

Observers considered that the Hadi’s government had definitively abandoned the city of Aden and handed it to the UAE-backed “Southern Transitional Council”, which announced early last month toppling of all government institutions.

They added that the step comes as a separation declaration by the transitional council, after the UAE occupation tightened its grip on Aden and established a military base in the Gulf of Aden.

Meanwhile, the UAE-backed militias, known as belt security and elite forces, continue to control oil areas in Shabwa and Hadramout provinces, after they had taken most of the southern provinces.
