SANAA, Oct. 23 (YPA) – Republican Senator Rand Paul, a key member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee responded to the Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir’s remarks on the Khashoggi case during an interview with Fox News channel on
Jubeir spoke to Paul, saying: “I am a very surprised that somebody 6,000 miles away can be certain about an event that happened 6,000 miles away with no access to information or intelligence.
What Senator Rand Paul expressed is based on emotions and not on facts, ” he said.
While Paul’s response was harsh and humiliating, he said he would not accept a lecture by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir on the killing of Jamal Khashoggi.
“It takes a lot of damn gall for Saudi Arabia — a dictatorship with 3,000 political prisoners held without trial — to lecture anyone in the U.S. on the presumption of innocence, ” Rand Paul wrote on his Twitter account.
