Saudi Arabia sends new military reinforcements to Yemen’s Aden

ADEN, Sept. 16 (YPA) – New Saudi military reinforcements arrived on Wednesday in the southern Yemeni city of Aden aboard military transport aircraft, amidst a notable escalation in troop movements and supplies dispatched by Riyadh toward the southern governorates.

Informed sources reported that a Saudi airlift has seen the landing of more than ten military transport planes at Aden International Airport since last Saturday. The aircraft carried various military shipments, which are being continuously unloaded and transported.

In parallel with the air supply line, sources confirmed the ongoing, heavy flow of military vehicles, armored personnel carriers, and various types of ammunition through the Al-Wadeeah border crossing. Dozens of new Saudi military vehicles and armored units arrived in Aden over the past two days and were subsequently moved toward the coastal road connecting Aden and Lahj.

These deployments coincide with growing public calls in the south demanding an end to the Saudi mandate, alongside the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council’s (STC) refusal to participate in Saudi Arabia’s military conflict against Sanaa forces.

Meanwhile, local factions aligned with Riyadh continue to mobilize personnel from the southern governorates following the control gained by Sanaa forces over the western coast, stretching to Mocha and the Thubab region overlooking the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
