LONDON, Sept 13 (YPA) – Pressure is mounting from the pro-Israel lobby in Britain to ban Doctors Without Borders, alleging its support for what it describes as “terrorism.”
The organization “British Lawyers for Israel” sent a letter to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood demanding that the organization be banned and that an investigation be conducted into alleged links between it and Palestinian factions, similar to the ban on the pro-Palestinian rights organization “Palestine Action.”
For its part, Doctors Without Borders rejected the occupation’s accusations of employing individuals linked to military activities, stressing that this contradicts its work ethics. It explained that the occupation did not inform it of any information about any person before or after targeting them, and said that if it had credible evidence, it would have shared it with them.
British writer Owen Jones mocked the campaign, writing on the X platform: “No, this is no joke. British Lawyers for Israel is seeking to ban Doctors Without Borders.” He added that this would mean treating them as terrorists and placing them in the same legal category as ISIS, where mere membership could lead to 14 years in prison.
