Riyadh opens investigation into “Tariq and Ammar Saleh” following fall of western coast districts to Sanaa forces

RIYADH, Sept. 13 (YPA) – Saudi authorities initiated an investigation on Sunday involving Tariq Saleh, commander of Saudi-backed forces on Yemen’s western coast, alongside his brother, Ammar Saleh.

According to informed sources, Riyadh summoned Tariq Saleh following his departure to Somaliland. He arrived in the Saudi capital late Saturday evening accompanied by his brother.

Prior to their arrival, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman met with Rashad Al-Alimi, president of “the Presidential Leadership Council”, directing the establishment of a joint investigative committee that includes Saudi officers to determine the circumstances surrounding recent developments.

Saudi Arabia has reportedly accused Saleh of treason following the advance of Sanaa-aligned forces, who secured control over several western coast districts previously held by Saudi-backed troops.
