Sanaa grants exceptional privileges for cargo container ships following control of Mocha port

SANAA, Sept. 10 (YPA) – Sanaa’s Ministries of Finance, Economy, Industry and Investment, and Transport and Public Works have initiated exceptional privileges and facilities for container ships and cargo arriving via Red Sea ports, including the Port of Mocha.

The decision executes directives from Supreme Political Council President Mahdi Al-Mashat and Acting Prime Minister of the Sanaa Government Mohammad Meftah to reactivate commercial maritime traffic and reduce financial burdens on importers.

A joint ministerial statement highlighted that the measures feature significant fee reductions for ships and containers, alongside up to 50% cuts and exemptions on taxes, customs, and port revenues.

The statement noted these actions aim to incentivize shipping agents and traders to route imports through Sanaa-administered ports, bypassing levies imposed by Saudi-backed forces in areas under their control.

The ministries urged the business sector, merchants, investors, and shipping firms to utilize these incentives to streamline the flow of essential goods.
