UKMTO: Oil tanker targeted in Strait of Hormuz incident

SANAA, June 27 (YPA) – The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported on Saturday that a maritime incident occurred in the Strait of Hormuz involving an oil tanker struck by an unidentified projectile.

According to UKMTO, the vessel’s captain confirmed that the bridge sustained damage, while all crew members remained safe and no oil spill or environmental damage was reported.

Authorities are investigating the incident, and vessels in the area have been urged to exercise extreme caution and report any suspicious activity.

The report comes amid heightened regional tensions, as the Strait of Hormuz faces increased security concerns following recent military developments and mutual accusations over compliance with ceasefire arrangements.
