Naim Qassem: “Framework agreement” is grave sin legitimizing occupation; resistance weapon “will absolutely not be dismantled”

BEIRUT, June 27 (YPA) – The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, launched a scathing attack on the “framework agreement” between the Lebanese authority and “Israel,” describing it as a “terrible downfall and a grave sin” that grants the occupation legitimacy to remain and opens the door to the annexation of parts of Lebanon.

In a televised address, Sheikh Qassem asserted that the agreement represents the most dangerous political concession yet, enforcing compliance with Israeli and American conditions. He denounced the involvement of the Israeli occupation in Lebanese domestic affairs, emphasizing that any understanding must be strictly confined to the region south of the Litani River, without encroaching upon the files of weaponry, security, or the state’s future.

Qassem further noted that the head of the occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, has begun granting the Lebanese Army what he termed a “certificate of good conduct” in exchange for implementing steps to disarm the resistance. He pointed out that the authority negotiated stripped of any leverage after abandoning the strength of the resistance.

Conversely, he praised the “Iranian-American memorandum of understanding” as an alternative that would have guaranteed a cessation of hostilities and a full Israeli withdrawal within sixty days while preserving Lebanese sovereignty.

Concluding his speech, Sheikh Naim Qassem reiterated his absolute rejection of linking the withdrawal to disarmament, stressing that “the weapon will absolutely not be dismantled.” He called on the authority to backtrack on these “sins,” firmly declaring that the resistance will not leave the battlefield under any circumstances.
