Zionist Ben-Gvir calls for ending Lebanon ceasefire, says Beirut should “look like Beit Hanoun”

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, June 22 (YPA) –Amid an uneasy calm in southern Lebanon following the halt of Israeli military operations, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir escalated his rhetoric toward Beirut, saying the Lebanese capital should “look like Beit Hanoun in the Gaza Strip” — a reference to the extensive destruction suffered by the northern Gaza town.

After paying “heavy prices” over the past several years of war, “we have reached the point closest to a decisive victory,” declared Itamar Ben Gvir, arguing against what he described as “weak ceasefires.”

“The equation must be very simple and clear: the State of Israel must be safe. If Israel is not safe, Beirut will look like Beit Hanoun,” He said at his Otzma Yehudit party’s weekly faction meeting in the Knesset.

Ben-Gvir also said communities in northern “Israel” are better prepared than before, citing the strengthening of local emergency response teams, expanded firearms access, and the increased deployment of security forces and military personnel.

He warned Lebanon against allowing its territory to be used as a base for attacks against “Israel,” saying “Beirut needs to understand that it cannot continue to conduct business as usual. Whoever chooses war against Israel must bear the consequences.”
