Following Switzerland talks, Washington grants Iran 60-day oil sales waiver

WASHINGTON, June 22 (YPA) – The U.S. Treasury Department on Monday issued a temporary general license authorizing the production, sale, and delivery of Iranian crude oil, petrochemicals, and petroleum products through August 21, signaling continued progress in understandings between Washington and Tehran.

According to the department, the license permits transactions involving the import of Iranian crude oil, petrochemicals, and petroleum products into the United States, while excluding transactions linked to North Korea, Cuba, and Ukraine.

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the 60-day waiver followed productive discussions held in Switzerland.

The move is consistent with provisions of the memorandum of understanding reached last week between the United States and Iran, which included U.S. commitments to grant waivers for Iranian oil exports and related services, including banking, insurance, and transportation.
