Hezbollah assails direct negotiation with Israeli occupation, considering it “suspicious path” threatening Lebanon’s sovereignty
BEIRUT, June 21 (YPA) – Hezbollah launched a fierce attack on the course of direct negotiations in which the Lebanese authorities’ delegation participated in Washington, characterizing this path as built on “flawed and suspicious” foundations that lead to outcomes amounting to “subservience and surrender.”
In a statement issued on Sunday, The group asserted that these negotiations take place within the context of “American dictates” and compromise national sovereignty, effectively shifting Lebanon politically into the “camp of those reconciling with the Zionist occupation.”
The statement further argued that the premises of these talks rely on concession and submission rather than holding fast to Lebanon’s elements of national strength.
“This negotiating path constitutes an obstacle to confronting the ‘Israeli’ project and undermines the sacrifices of the Lebanese people and the resistance forces, which serve as leverage to enforce a full and unconditional ‘Israeli’ withdrawal,” Hezbollah said.
In a related context, Hezbollah accused the Lebanese authorities of proceeding with the negotiations in compliance with directives from the US administration through unilateral decisions that contradict the National Pact, the constitution, and Lebanese laws.
The statement warned that the continuation of this approach aligns with the objectives pursued by the United States and the Israeli occupation entity in the region, adversely impacting Lebanon’s stability, independence, and sovereignty.
