Israeli bulldozers destroy water networks east of Tammun

TUBAS, June 09 (YPA) – Israeli bulldozers on Tuesday destroyed main and secondary water pipelines east of the town of Tammun, south of Tubas, disrupting water supplies to local residents, livestock, and agricultural lands in the area.

According to Palestinian sources, Israeli bulldozers destroyed a main water pipeline carrying water from Al-Mi’yar Well to agricultural lands east of the town. Secondary pipelines supplying dozens of dunams of farmland were also damaged, in addition to the destruction of water meters.

They added that the damage caused water outages affecting several residential communities and farmers, while inflicting direct harm on irrigated crops and livestock that depend on the network for their water needs, particularly amid rising temperatures.

The incident comes amid what Palestinian officials describe as an escalation of Israeli measures in the northern Jordan Valley, including attacks on infrastructure and essential services relied upon by local residents for daily life and agricultural and pastoral activities.

Two days earlier, Israeli authorities issued a decision to resume land-leveling works in the areas of Atouf and Ras al-Ahmar, southeast of Tubas, as part of a project to complete a 22-kilometer military road linking the Ein Shibli checkpoint southeast of Tubas with the Tayasir checkpoint east of the city.

The northern Jordan Valley has witnessed an increase in reported violations by Israeli forces and colonists, including land bulldozing, property confiscation, demolitions, and restrictions on access to water resources and grazing areas. Palestinian officials say these measures are aimed at increasing pressure on residents and encouraging their displacement from the area.
