Albanese: Doctors’ global solidarity with Palestinians could turn genocide into victory for humanity
GENEVA, May 14 (YPA) – The UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967, Francesca Albanese, said on Thursday that the impact of global solidarity among medical professionals with their Palestinian colleagues detained by Israel and the unified demand for their freedom is imaginable.
Albanese explained in a post on the X platform that transforming genocide into a victory for humanity begins with small, accumulated steps that spread widely.
She noted that the Israeli occupation army, with American and European support, has committed crimes of genocide, siege, and starvation in Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the martyrdom of 72,744 Palestinians and the injury of 172,588 others, most of them children and women, with thousands of victims remaining under the rubble, inaccessible.
