TEHRAN, May 11 (YPA) – The Iranian Maritime Federation announced on Monday the complete cessation of operations across all Arab Gulf ports, confirming that the movement of oil and gas tankers through the Strait of Hormuz has plummeted from 110 vessels per day to “zero,” in an unprecedented field escalation.
The Secretary-General of the Federation, Masoud Palmi, explained that the shutdown of Jebel Ali Port—which he described as the “engine and driver” for regional ports—has inevitably led to the disruption and paralysis of all other coastal facilities. He emphasized that as long as ships do not traverse the Strait, commercial activities in the region’s ports will remain at a standstill.
Parallel to this, Ibrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, confirmed that Iran has entered a new phase of the war. He noted that current events in the Gulf waters will reflect directly on the “final result” of the conflict.
Rezaei issued a decisive warning, stating that no fuel will exit the Strait “without Iran’s permission,” while revealing that Tehran has received messages from countries that have “realized their mistake.” He also criticized Bahrain and the UAE for what he termed a “wrong bet.”
This development follows weeks of “US-Israeli” military aggression against Iran, which prompted Tehran to enforce new transit rules in the Strait of Hormuz.
