SANAA, April 28 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Ministry of Interior declared on Wednesday new confessions from members of an espionage network linked to a joint intelligence operations room involving the United States, Israeli entity, and Saudi Arabia.
According to Saba News Agency, the ministry said in an official statement that the disclosures came within the framework of a security operation it referred to as “And Their Plot Will Fail,” which resulted in the arrest of individuals accused of working for the network.
Moreover, the statement stated that the suspects were allegedly involved in surveillance activities, gathering sensitive information, and transmitting coordinates of vital, security, and military sites to the joint intelligence room during Yemen’s support campaign for Gaza.
Furthermore, it clarified that information supplied by those accused was later used to carry out strikes on several facilities, resulting in casualties among Yemeni civilians.
In addition, the statement said intelligence officers operating through intermediaries allegedly recruited military personnel capable of accessing strategic information.
Some recruits were reportedly summoned to Riyadh, where they met Saudi and foreign intelligence officers and were provided with tools intended to facilitate espionage activities.
It also added that those involved allegedly relied on multiple methods to obtain information, including indirect collection through public gatherings and events, as well as building relationships with government employees or their relatives.
Accordingly, the statement’s ministry affirmed that the objective was to gather data related to military capabilities, the movements of military and civilian officials, and details concerning meetings, workplaces, and residences.
Finally, the ministry said the disclosure of the alleged network reflects the readiness of security authorities to confront the hostile conspiracies targeting Yemen’s security, stability, and territorial integrity.
