Amnesty International condemns Trump’s threats to attack Iranian infrastructure as “disgusting”

LONDON, April 06 (YPA) – Amnesty International has condemned US President Donald Trump’s threat to target Iranian power plants and bridges, calling it “disgusting.”

Secretary-General Agnès Callamard warned that such actions could constitute a “possible wave of war crimes,” with civilians likely to bear the heaviest toll.

“What a disgusting message,” Callamard said. “Iranian civilians would be the first to suffer from the destruction of power plants and bridges. They would lose electricity, heating, and water, and have no means to escape the attacks.”

She added, “This could trigger a wave of war crimes. And this comes from Donald Trump, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.”

Trump renewed his threats on Sunday, demanding that Iran open the Strait of Hormuz or face attacks.

In a post on the Truth Social platform, he declared, “Tuesday will be the day of power plants and the day of bridges, all in one day, in Iran.”
