LONDON, April 02 (YPA) -The British newspaper “The Times” has reported that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has caused significant damage to all 13 US military bases in the region after five weeks of war.
The damage came despite the deployment of some of America’s most expensive defense systems before the war, which are capable of intercepting all types of ballistic and cruise missiles, the newspaper said.
According to The Times, the cost of damage after the first month is estimated at $1.5 billion, with more than 300 US soldiers wounded.
Among the casualties, 13 troops have been killed, including six who died when a KC-135 aerial refueling tanker was shot down west of Iraq, the report added.
“The process of auditing the damage to American bases or locations where the US military is present makes for grim reading for the Pentagon,” The Times concluded.
Separately, The New York Times, citing officials, reported earlier that Iranian attacks had forced US forces to operate remotely. The officials confirmed that Iranian strikes targeted vital US bases, causing substantial physical damage to reconnaissance, supply, and command facilities.
These attacks have pushed US forces to adjust their operational methods, including conducting some operations remotely to ensure personnel safety and limit losses amid rising regional tensions, the officials said.
Iran continues to retaliate against US-Israeli aggression on its territory by targeting all US military bases in the region as well as Israeli occupation entities. The IRGC is conducting waves of missile and drone strikes, achieving confirmed casualties and material losses among US ranks.
Tehran has vowed to pursue US forces “even in the hotels where they stay” and said they “will not be safe anywhere” in response to the aggression against the country.
