Southern Yemeni components reject Saudi-led dialogue, cite exclusion, foreign interference

SANAA, Jan. 13 (YPA) – The Political Bureau of the southern revolutionary movement announced on Tuesday its refusal to participate in the so-called Southern dialogue held in Saudi Arabia.

In a statement, the office affirmed to southern public opinion its firm rejection of the dialogue, stating that it excludes most national components, fails to reflect the will of the southern people, and does not represent the genuine southern forces.

The statement pointed out that the steps taken by Saudi Arabia and the UAE in this framework have no legitimacy in Yemen, because they openly interfere in the internal affairs of the country, and come within projects that are not biased to the cause of the southern people and their legitimate rights.

It declared its complete rejection of the Saudi and Emirati projects, which practice occupation seeking to impose guardianship and domination on the south through tools and projects that that detract from the sovereignty of the south or circumvent the sacrifices of its sons.

The statement confirmed the Bureau’s full bias to the side of the people and citizens, who pay the price of the occupation and its projects politically, economically and security.

The office called on the masses of the Yemeni people in various southern provinces to go out in peaceful popular rallies rejecting the Saudi and Emirati projects in Yemeni south.

For its part, the Southern Movement component participating in the National Dialogue Conference and signatory to the Peace and Partnership Agreement affirmed its categorical rejection of what it described as provocative and suspicious calls to convene a Southern Dialogue Conference, through which the countries of the coalition waging war on Yemen—led by Saudi Arabia and backed by the United States and “Israel”, along with their local mercenaries—claim to address the southern issue under false pretenses.

In a statement, the component stressed that the agendas of the forces of aggression and occupation are cloaked in deceptive slogans, while in reality they perpetuate internal division and suffering. It asserted that coalition countries will not allow any outcomes that genuinely serve Yemen and its people, and will instead pursue policies that advance their own interests and aggressive objectives.

The statement further warned against attempts by the forces of aggression and occupation to impose, by force of arms, their proxies under the pretext of representing the people of southern Yemen, in order to implement hostile agendas and malicious schemes. It cautioned that these plans include cooperation and normalization with what it described as the transient Zionist entity, turning the occupied southern provinces into permissive arenas for Israeli activity and launching pads for aggressive operations against liberated areas, while forcing local residents into battlefronts and conflicts that do not serve their interests.

It reaffirmed that the southern issue is one of justice and grievance rooted in the policies and practices of the former regime, stressing that it is a national issue and a purely internal matter. It emphasized that the issue cannot be resolved under conditions of aggression and occupation, nor through the use of mercenaries or externally imposed solutions. It concluded by asserting that the enemies of Yemen—among the aggressors and occupiers—will never allow outcomes that genuinely serve the interests of the country and its people, as such outcomes fundamentally contradict their agendas, expansionist ambitions, and hostile plans against Yemen and its population.

The Southern Movement component stated that the actions carried out by Saudi Arabia, the coalition and occupation forces, their regional proxies, and local tools in the occupied provinces of the homeland unequivocally confirmed that they are enemies of the Yemeni people without exception. It further affirmed that these practices validate the righteousness of the courageous and historic decision taken by the Republic of Yemen to confront the aggression since March 26, 2015.
