Trump threatens military operation against Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, and Iran

WASHINGTON, Jan. 05 (YPA) –  US president Donald Trump issued a series of provocative statements on Colombia, Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico, and Iran, raising concerns over potential US interventions.

He announced what he called “Operation Colombia,” noting it could be similar to a previous action against Venezuela, which he claimed led to the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro

Trump stated that the US would oversee Venezuela’s “rebuilding and management,” with elections to be held “at the right time,” and insisted that Washington effectively controls the country.

When asked who is currently in charge, he called the answer “controversial,” adding, “That means we are in charge.”

Trump also threatened Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, warning she could face a fate “worse than Maduro’s” if she did not “do what is right,” noting that Maduro “surrendered immediately.”

On Cuba, he described the economy as “on the verge of collapse” after losing Venezuelan oil support, saying many Cuban Americans would welcome the country’s downfall.

Regarding Mexico, he criticized the influence of drug cartels and said he repeatedly suggests to President Claudia Sheinbaum that US forces could assist in tackling them.

Finally, Trump addressed Iran, warning that any killing of protesters would trigger a “very strong strike” from Washington.
