Head of Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs reveals terms of prisoner exchange deal

SANAA, Dec. 23 (YPA) -Abdulqader al-Mortada, head of the National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs in Sanaa, revealed details of today’s agreement with the Saudi side and other parties to implement a large-scale prisoner exchange deal.

Al-Mortada explained that the most important provision of the agreement is the implementation of a numerical deal involving 2,900 prisoners from both sides, with their names to be agreed upon within one month.

He added that the agreement includes the recovery of all bodies from all fronts and areas and their handover through the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The agreement also stipulates the formation of committees to visit all prisons after the exchange, identify any remaining prisoners, and secure their release, he said.
