Military spokesman: Saudi F-15 fighter jets carried out air attack on civilians at Taiz market

SANAA, Sept. 27 (YPA) – Yemen’s Sanaa-based armed forces spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Sarie declared on Sunday a Saudi F-15 fighter jets’ formation took off from Khamis Mushait Air Base at 11:00 a.m. Sunday and headed toward Taiz province.

In a statement, the spokesman said the Saudi fighter jets carried out two airstrikes on a market in Taiz at the Mawiyah Junction at 11:29 a.m., describing the attack as a grave crime against civilians that left around 50 people killed and wounded, according to a preliminary toll.

He added that the Saudi fighter jets kept fling over the skies of Taiz at 11:37 a.m. and headed toward Jawf province, where they carried out four airstrikes on Khabw Al-Sha’af district before leaving Jawf and returning to Khamis Mushait Air Base in Saudi Arabia at 2:00 p.m.

The spokesman stressed that the bloodshed was caused by aggression at the Taiz market would have severe consequences for the Saudi perpetrator, by Allah’s will and power, adding that victory comes only from Allah.
