Four killed in Israeli airstrikes on south Lebanon, Beqaa

BEIRUT, Dec. 18 (YPA) – The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that four people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Marjayoun district, southern the country.

The attack is part of a major wave of aerial strikes targeting several regions across South Lebanon and the eastern Beqaa Valley.

Intense strikes hit the outskirts of Rayhan and Jabbour in the Iqlim al-Tuffah region, as well as areas near Deir Seryan, El Qousseir, and the Litani River.

Airstrikes targeted the heights of Jabbour and Qatrani in West Beqaa, and the Zghrine heights in the Hermel mountains to the east.

An Israeli drone struck the town of Taybe while a “Electricité du Liban” (EDL) maintenance crew was working. The strike resulted in several injuries among the workers and the destruction of two utility vehicles.

This escalation marks a significant expansion of the conflict, with strikes reaching deep into mountainous terrain and valley outskirts.
