Senior Islah Party leader killed, 13 wounded in Taiz explosion

TAIZ, Dec. 18 (YPA) – Three citizens were killed about 13 others injured, including women and children, on Thursday in an explosion in the center of Taiz.

Sources familiar with the matte said that an improvised explosive device was remotely detonated in front of the headquarters the Islah Party, is one of Yemen’s main political parties.

They clarified that Ibrahim al-Sharai, one of the leaders of the Party in Cairo district was among the killed, while Abdul Jalil Moqbel, one of the Party’s members, was also the injured during the explosion, in addition to two bodyguards of the party’s executive books building.

The sources explained the wounded were taken to hospitals, some of them in serious condition.

For its part, the Islah party condemned what it described as the treacherous crime that targeted its headquarters on Jamal Street in the center of Taiz, describing what happened as a heinous crime targeting a civilian party, without disclosing the perpetrator.

Taiz province, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, is witnessed conflicts between factions of the Islah party and pro-UAE forces, which try to impose its control over the areas under the control of the party.
