OCCUPIED QUDS, Dec. 18 (YPA) – Israeli occupation authorities have approved a new settlement plan to establish “Mishmar Yehuda” (also known as Givat Adumim) on approximately 3,380 dunams in the Quds desert.
Located north of Al-Ubeidiya and near the “Ma’ale Adumim” settlement bloc, the project aims to fundamentally alter the geographic and demographic reality of the region.
While initial plans for this settlement date back to the 1980s, the official revival of the project serves to tighten control over areas east of Quds city (Jerusalem) and link major settlement blocs.
Palestinian officials have warned that this expansion threatens the territorial contiguity of Palestinian lands and undermines the Palestinian presence in the surroundings of occupied Quds.
