Ibb Police arrest suspects in two separate incidents involving shooting, bomb detonation, assault

IBB, Dec. 14 (YPA) – The police in Ibb governorate announced the apprehension of suspects in two separate incidents: the first involving a shooting and a bomb explosion that injured five people, and the second involving an assault with a sharp object that injured a citizen.

Incident One Details (Ba’dan District):

Ba’dan District police arrested the suspect, Mohammed Ali Mohammed Zaikoun (20 years old), who shot his brother, Mo’taz Zaikoun, and detonated a hand grenade while they were in front of their house, stemming from family disputes.

The incident resulted in five injuries: the suspect’s brother sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, another person was shot in the neck, and three individuals sustained shrapnel wounds from the grenade.

Incident Two Details (Al-Makhadir District):

Al-Makhadir District police also apprehended a suspect person for assaulting a citizen by striking him on the head with a sharp object, requiring his transfer to the hospital for treatment. Police stated the assault occurred after the perpetrator attempted to forcibly enter the victim’s home.

Ibb Police confirmed that all suspects have been referred to the competent authorities to complete legal procedures ahead of their prosecution.
