Pro-coalition government official: STC ‘Invasion’ of Hadramout, Mahra ‘more dangerous than Al-Qaeda’
RIYADH, Dec. 14 (YPA) – Najeeb Ghallab, the appointed “Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information” in the Saudi-led coalition-aligned government, described the recent push by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions into the districts of Hadramout and Mahra provinces in early December as “the most dangerous invasion than Al-Qaeda.”
Ghallab, a leader in the General People’s Congress (GPC) party, stated in a series of posts on “X” (formerly Twitter) that this “invasion” represents a “dangerous shift” that will plunge Yemen’s southern and eastern provinces into “long-term problems and a fatal drain.”
Ghallab, who resides in Riyadh, demanded that the “liberation of the eastern provinces from the STC” become the most important decision for both the Coalition and the international community.
He further accused the STC of transforming the southern governorates into a “fascist ideology” that has evolved into a network for gangs, emphasizing the geopolitical centrality of Hadramout and the need to protect it with a “comprehensive deterrence force.”
